Current Wish List!

A few of the things that my heart desires lately....

'Renley' Lace Fit & Flare Dress (Nordstrom Exclusive) by BB Dakota

This little black cocktail dress is just so perfect. I love the lace detail and the fact that it is a simple complete outfit all on it's own. I would totally wear this dress with my hair up, probably in a high bun.... if I had the body for it.... I'm working on it. -__-

MICHAEL Michael Kors Medium Sutton Satchel

So, just looking at the bag, I'm sure its obvious why i love it! And just looking at the price, I'm sure its obvious why this is on my WISH list and not on my shoulder. YIKES!!

Cross My Heart Dress
This dress is actually pretty affordable. Its on sale right now for $40 bucks and orignally $78. I would totally get it.... but like I said I'm not in the right shape or anywhere near it to wear a dress like this. Working on it.

Day Dreaming Dress
Again... Adorable, affordable, can't fit it. Geeze. :P

Ubran Decay Naked3 Palette
I've been meaning to get this for a while now and I'm not really sure why I haven't purchased it yet. Maybe it's because I'm not as rich as I like to believe I am. And/Or I have a serious addiction to nail products and I spend every dollar I get on a new nail polish or nail art that I don't need... Maybe? IDK.

BaByliss®PRO Nano Titanium™ Curling Iron
$35-$50 at Target

YVES SAINT LAURENT
CRÈME DE BLUSH

So pretty... but so pricey. Urrrghh

TARTE
Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation SPF 15

FORMULA X
The Cut - Spring 2014 COLOR Alive - opaque peach pink

I have heard so much about the entire FORMULA X product line and I'm excited to try it out.

Cherry Red Vintage Rose Dr Martens
Perfection 0_0

Well thank you to everyone who check this out this post.
I hope you enjoyed it.
Let me know some of the things that are on your current wish list, or if any of the items I mentioned are.
Anyway..
take care and thanks again.

4 Things to Keep in Mind When Shopping for Beauty Items

So for ladies (and gents) that are new to the world of makeup and beauty products, and even for the well experienced shoppers out there, I have noticed that there are certain things that get in the way of a good shopping experience. Here is a list of some possible solutions that could potentially help make our shopping process a little smoother.

1. Create a List

Problem
When going into a store like Sephora, or Mac, (or hell, even Rite Aid) the amount of beauty supplies you encounter can be quite overwhelming to say the least. It’s like a beautiful dream of products that surround you, and if you don’t have an exact idea of what you’re there for, then it can quickly start to feel like a beautiful episode of Hoarders and THERE IS NO ESCAPE. I’m sure we've all done it, walk in there for one pair of lashes and come running out bursting with joy holding 5 colored eyeliners and a pack of gum.... (But they were on sale!!) I swear, they get me every time. A lot of times I can not make a decision to save my life. I have this weird fear of making the wrong choice so my amazingly genius brain decides to just shut off and not make one at all. It’s kind of a curse... You should see me in an actual crisis. It is not pretty... there’s usually drool... haha JK ;)

Advice
Know what you want before you go to the store. You should have at least a general idea of the items you want. Whether it is strictly foundation, lashes, mascara, etcetera. If it’s foundation, try to think about your skin type, and whether you want a full coverage foundation or more of a sheer finish. Narrow it down as best as you can to save time. Going into a store, Ulta for example, it could literally take hours to find the perfect item. Sometimes, you may not even find anything. It is so easy to waste time in there if you are lost or unsure. It might also be beneficial to take a look at the store website before leaving to get an idea of what items they have. And for goodness sake write it down!! Just like when you’re food shopping, a list is essential. It will be your compass in the land of all things beautiful. Let your list be your guide and write anything that might help to keep it specific. Details, other items you’ve considered, the more specific the better.

2. Prioritize

Problem
Obviously, even though it may not feel this way, beauty items are not NECESSITIES! And sometimes I really want to get something, but funds are needed elsewhere... and I have to take a step back, slap my hand and put it down. It’s better to wish you had the perfect foundation then to wish you paid the electricity bill. Keep it cute.. but it won’t matter what you look like once the lights are off.

Advice
Make sure that all of your finances are in check before splurging on the more materialistic items. I’m sure this is an obvious idea, but sometimes we need to be reminded that nail polish and lipstick don’t pay the bills. Okayyyyy. Lol

3. Plan Ahead and Take Your Time

Problem
Going to the mall for the day, could become your boyfriend or husbands worse nightmare after being stuck in a makeup store for hours at a time. And constantly hearing "Babe, are you done?" ........ "What could you possibly need that for?"...... or my personal favorite, "I’m going to go wait for you in the car!" ....... can become the most irritating buzz in your ear while trying to focus on the important matters at hand. Shopping, DUH!! Also, interruptions can’t totally set you back and distract you from making decisions. Silly things like, your best friend calling you for advice or having to go pick up your kids from school. So inconvenient.

Advice
Try to plan the trip ahead of time, when your schedule is clear and you don’t have a ton of things lined up within the same time frame. It is hard to have a good experience, or make the right choices when being rushed. Bring someone with you someone who wants to be there, is going to help you, is actually going to have fun, and/or won’t try to unfriend you, undate you, or unfamilymember you. Lol it could happen…

4. Ask For Help

Problem
Okay, sometimes we're stubborn Know-it-Alls that are ohh soo intelligent and couldn’t be paid to ask for help. Then there is that time when the woman at Sephora has a bright blue eye shadow with enough bronzer to accommodate the entire cast of the jersey shore, and the whitest pink lipstick you ever did see. (we are all beautiful in our own way..) So asking for help or advice is not always the first thing on our minds.

Advice
Swallow your pride and ask for help. There are a ton of employees at beauty store who are so full of knowledge and actually eager to give it to you and help steer you in the right direction. Okay, there may be a few that make you wonder “How the hell did you get hired here”, but the vast majority get hired based on there people skills, and knowledge of makeup and beauty products. So fish around and if the first associate you had didn’t help you, most likely you’ll find someone who will.

Bonus: Shopping Online
If you're an online shopper and you want to branch out to beauty items for the first time... this could be amazingly amaze balls, or it could be the surest and fastest road on the sad, destructive ride right into DEBT Ville.

Advice:
Follow all of the above and also.... spend some more time looking around the wonderful world of the Internet for ways to save money. There are some advantages to shopping online that stores just don’t offer. One great benefit would be that certain websites offer specials and online coupons or codes that can save a good percentage of your money. Some sites are set up so that when buying items through their site, you get rewarded money back, or having your friends purchase because of you could even get you things for free.

A few popular sites are:

7 Deadly Sins::Beauty Tag

So although I was not tagged, I decided to participate in the 7 Deadly Sins Beauty tag anyways!! I saw a bunch of girls answering these questions on blogs and on YouTube and I thought I would join in on all the fun! ! ! So let's get started shall we.....

TAG QUESTIONS
1. GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?

Most Inexpensive: My most inexpensive beauty item would probably be anything that i purchased from E.L.F or maybe nail polishes that I've bought from the dollars store (LA Colors). E.L.F offers some pretty good quality eye shadows, lip gloss, brushes (and much more) all for less then $1. The things from e.l.f that i use the most would probably be their $1 Foundation Brush. :)

Most Expensive: The most expensive beauty product that I own right now is probably my Limited Edition Tarte True Blood Palette, which was given to me as a gift, but I believe that it is priced at anywhere from $65-$100.  I don't know the original price or how much mine cost. But most of my makeup collection is fairly inexpensive.... (individually..) haha :)

If it isn't the Tarte palette, then for sure it's my straightener; Solia Flat Iron originally $149.00 and now it is sold for $89.99
Solia Pink Limited Edition Flat Iron (1")

2. WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?

I actually have a love/hate relationship with eyeliner. I love to wear liner with most makeup looks. I feel like it is definitely an important part of makeup that can enhance a look very dramatically. What I hate most about eyeliner is taking it off!! There is nothing more annoying then coming home from a long day, tired as hell, and you want to wash your face and go to bed.. but THE EYELINER!.. why?.. why must you take so long to come off!!! lol

3. GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?

My most delicious beauty products would be any lip scrubs/buffers. Particularly one from Bath and Body Works. It feels great on your lips, does a great job to exfoliate and leave them feeling smooth and kissable, and the sugary taste that comes with it doesn't hurt. ;-)

4. SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?

I think the product that I neglect most (due to laziness) would be tweezers. Technically that is a lie, I do use my tweezers frequently, BUT I don't use them on my eye brows due to laziness. I will try to hold off as long as a can without plucking those annoying hairs that grow back on my eyebrows. I usually cover up underneath with concealer.. haha.

5. PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?

Absolutely, without a doubt, hands down it would be lashes! I LOVE the look of longer more enhanced lashes and whenever I'm wearing them I feel 10x's more feminine and gorgeous. They really help to give me that extra boost when I'm not quite there. LOVE LOVE LOVE my lashes!! <3
My absolute favorite pair would be the Ardel Wispies (Invisiband).

6. LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

Physically I would have to say eyes. And on a non-physical level, would like to say sense of humor. I mean honestly.. does anything else even matter? Haha Oh.Em.Gee I'm totally kidding BTW. That is what I love the most about my boyfriend, and they are the reason he gets away with certain things.. lol :P

7. ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?

The items that I would most like to receive as gift would really be anything... I'm not too picky and I love trying new products out. To be a good sport and answer the question though, I would probably go with the Ardel Wispies lashes, or any eye shadows from MAC. So ya know..... yea.

I hoped that you all enjoyed this tag. Please let me know what you think and if you have tried any of these products that I've listed. I would love to hear your thoughts! !

I tag EVERYONE who reads this and anyone who is interested.

Please check in frequently, I would really appreciate it.
Take care and be happy:)

Exhausting, Drowsy, Lazy-Bones Kind O' Day=(

My Kitty Cat when she is having one of those days.. :P

This is EXACTLY how I feel today!!

A chilly day today in Philadelphia, with partially cloudy skies and a nice burst of sun every once in a while, about 50 or so degrees Fahrenheit with winds at 6mph and a 29% chance of storms. Haha. Okay yes, I took that one way too far, but at least you have your weather update.. (if you live in Philly). :P

Anywho!! Even though the weather is not too, too bad, and there is a good amount of sunshine, for some reason today I am just not feelin' it. I am in my "mope around the house, snuggled in a blanket and drinking hot tea" mood. Today has been extremely uneventful so far, I'm in college, so after coming home from class, I got cozy in my bed, trying to study and do homework and instead of making progress, I am either dozing off, or smacking my hand every time it reaches for the remote control! I know that we all get those days every once in a while, some more than others (me!!), so I am trying not to feel too guilty about it. But I swear it really is hard to snap out of.

Usually, after having a day like this, I find it hard to come back from and I would love to go to a spa and get a massage, or just some type of relaxing treatment to help rejuvenate my spirit and bring myself "back to life". But, like I said before... I'm a college student... on a college student's salary, which in plain English means BROKE. haha. So what I like to do when I have the time is set up my own DIY spa day, at my home.

I usually do something for my hair, nails, toes, face, and my all around mood.

For my hair I may try a treatment, maybe a hair mask, an oil treatment, or even clipping my ends (depending on what you need done to your hair). A very Inexpensive oil treatment that you can get from any Walmart, Target or drugstore near you, is the V05 Hot oil Treatment:

This product does a pretty good job at taming your hair and reducing frizz. I would recommend it as a quick fix for someone who is having trouble managing their frizz. It's definitely not a permanent solution by any means, but it does make a significant difference if you have rough, course, dry hair.,

For nails and toes, I usually do a mini, at home mani and pedi, soaking the skin, cleansing, and moisturizing. What I have been using for quite some time now is the Deja Vu Dead Sea Nail Kit:

The reason I am using this particular kit is something that I am not too pleased about really. For years and years I have been hassled at a few stands in one of the malls that I go to most here in Philly. They try soo hard to sell the product that it actually is quite annoying! Anyone who has been to Franklin Mills mall, has probably tried a sample or been harassed by the people working the stands selling this product!! As annoying as the sales reps have been, and as much as I hate to admit it... these products work pretty well. (and I gotta give it to them, they obviously know how to sell)

For my face I like to try out new masks or use a home-made recipe for a facial. It all really just depends on your mood, the time you have, and the resources that are available to you. At my local super-market, or at any drugstores, they sell the small "sample-size" one time facial masks that are very inexpensive (like $1.50) and I like to try any of those out whenever I'm in the mood for a facial.
Montagne Jeunesse Masks are always fun and extremely In expensive
Freeman Facial Masks are GREAT! And they are inexpensive as well.

Usually listening to music, lighting candles, taking a bubble bath, and/or giving yourself a mini spa day at home can brighten up your spirit and give you that extra boost that you need to push through exhausting days like I'm having today,

Its always good to spend time on yourself and to give back to your body, relax yourself and show your body and mind some appreciation, in anyway that you can. So if you are feeling like you need to replenish and snap out of zombie-mode, try setting up a spa day for yourself. Heck, it might even be fun to make it a group thing and invite friends, have some cocktails and enjoy a few drinks with the girls (maybe meet up before ladies night). Whatever the case may be, don't forget to treat your mind, body and spirit right because we all deserve to be happy and feel at peace.

I hope that this helps someone, ANYONE who may have come across by blog. lol
Take care and be happy:)
